Another Fantastic Tutorial from Zach Bush

Hey all,
I have been a subscriber to “Advanced Photoshop” Mag for just over a year now and every month they hit you with really stunning tutorials. Each time I sit down to do one of them I learn something new. Anyway I sat down to do last months tutorial and was happy to see that one of my favourite artists of recent times Zach Bush was behind it. I followed his tips step by step and man I am really pleased with the result. A really great tutorial that has opened my eyes to some new ways to digitally paint. Thanks Zach!, all credit to you!

Ansmann Racing Advert Series

Hello again!,

Finally I get to post up the series of Adverts I created for Ansmann Racing. These will eventually appear on my newly designed website, which will hopefully be done in the next month or so. Anyway this project was my first major bit of freelance work after I left University back in September 2009. I was given the opportunity to work on some promotional adverts for Ansmann Model Car Racing. There were around 8 cars in all and all the following adverts were produced to be eventually published in “Racer” & “Race Car” magazines, (mags dedicated to model car racing). I also produced some Ansmann Energy adverts that have appeared in “Professional Photographer” & “Pixel” magazines. Also while at Ansmann I was given the opportunity to work on two adverts for a company called “VP Pro” who produce the car parts for the model cars, these adverts also appeared in the model car racing magazines.

Anyway below is the work, so take a look!

Daddy Phunx Artwork

It’s been a while since these were made but a friend requested I post them up so here they are. Back in 2008 I produced a series of Materials for the local DJ known as, “Daddy Phunx”. The materials included a flyer template, business cards, album CD and Vinyl artwork.

Wicker Pig Website Design

This is a bit of an old bit of work, but I thought I’d upload it to the blog. Last year some friends of mine formed a band and were looking to get a track on Amazon & Itunes, which they did. They asked me to do some designs for them and come up with a brand. Subsequently I created a simple Pixel Art representation of the band, unknown to me that “The IT Crowd” had a very similar style, only got into that show in the last few weeks!, anyway I was then asked to produce a website in flash which unfortunately was never used but heck, here are the designs for all to see.

I would also urge you to check out their music, if you search for ‘Wicker Pig’ on either itunes or amazon you will be able to download the track ‘Run for cover’ for around 70p, 70p!! well worth it for a really great track.

DA Competition T-shirt Entry

Sooo, I havent done one of these before, the competitions have always seemed a bit far fetched for me, a bit narrow or just completely out of my interest zone. However this one seemed just right so I gave it a shot.

The Media Mob Logo

As of a few months ago I started up a little design collective blog in the hope that the members would regularly post up work, thoughts, ideas and general chit chat they find interesting, to the blog. So far its been great with the collective posting quite often and the diversity in the work is really starting to show. About a month a go I spent a few evenings working on a Logo design for the collective as all we had was a simple font logo and header. Joe Chipperfield Logo

Below is the final logo for a friend of mine who offers guitar tuition. Spent about 2-3 weeks perfecting this and getting all the components together such as the com-slips, business cards and letter heads. Let me know what you think Should be visible on a website soon enough so I’ll link you up when that comes through.

Update Feb 2010

It’s been a crazy start to the year with lots going on. I must admit I have been neglecting this blog after the start up of another. Myself and a few other friends have set up a group called the Media Mob Collective and we have been blogging here and there with projects we are working on. However the time of neglect is over as I have a lot of projects to update this blog with in the coming weeks so stay tuned, this blog will get going soon enough
